Dishcover is a public, New York City restaurant-menu search service. This policy explains the limited information we process when you use the site or suggest a restaurant.

What we collect

We collect basic, pseudonymous usage data through PostHog, including pages viewed, browser and device information, and interactions with the search experience. We do not use session replay or autocapture.

If you use the “Missing a restaurant?” form, we collect the restaurant name and the phone number you provide so we can follow up about that suggestion. Please do not submit sensitive personal information.

How we use information

We use usage data to understand and improve the product, and restaurant-suggestion information to review and follow up on submitted restaurants. Search results themselves are based on public restaurant-menu information, not on a user profile.

How information is shared and retained

Restaurant suggestions are stored in a private project-management issue so the Dishcover team can review them. We do not sell personal information. We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required by law.

Your choices

You may avoid providing a phone number by not using the suggestion form. You can also use your browser controls to limit cookies or local storage. To ask a privacy question or request access to, correction of, or deletion of the information you submitted, use our contact page.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised effective date on this page.
